1st Verify physical switch is not turned off (if there is one)2nd Verify that Software associated to hardware is not disabled or has the switch disabled. (usually a key combo you can press to bring up the software from OEM, or just look in the wireless network properties of the adapter to verify windows is controlling it.)3rd If you do have a OEM software installed controlling the software try reseting it to defaults or uninstalling and reinstalling it.4th if none of those things panned out to have a problem then uninstall the device out of device manager and reinstall.5th if the 4th step didnt work then throw the laptop away and buy a new one:-D.

Does anyone know why my wifi adapter keeps messing up, it will be working then out of no where the wifi icon goes grey and has a red X over it. If I restart my computer or disable then enable the adapter in device manager it works again. My drivers are up to date, but I did recently switch routers. As you mentioned it simply turns off the WiFi adapter driver when it tries to start Bluetooth. However, If you fight it to work at the same time then you encounter DNS issues galore. No cure as of yet has helped i’ve tried every possible solution on the net for the conflict to be resolved. Also make sure you laptop has power plugged in or atleast is fully charged. If it only happens on battery power, I can show later how to disable power options which might be forcing the wireless to turn off to conserve power.
